In edible oil production, we will use a precision edible oil filter in the stage of the oil refining process to decolorize and capture filter aid. Filter bag is the most widely used. Usually, the filter manufacturer only provides separate filters and filter bags to the grease factory but does not consider the problems encountered in actual operation. Our engineers often encounter the following two issues in the workshop of grease customers:
- The filter bag is broken frequently
- There is much grease left in the filter bag after use, which needs to be put in a specially equipped bucket and stand for a long time before it can flow out. The above two problems can be solved with a filter spare part: a floating ball, also known as a hollow ball, is placed in the precision filter, which can not only fix the filter bag and prevent it from rubbing with the filter screen with the turbulent flow of grease but also reduce the residual grease in the filter to the lowest level.
How to select the oil decolorization filter bag?
Since much-activated carbon and clay will be used as filter aids in refining edible oil, these fine filter aids will inevitably flow to the downstream oil products. Therefore, selecting appropriate filters to capture activated carbon and clay is critical to the quality of oil products.
Bag filters are often equipped with liquid filter bags to meet the requirements. However, different oil manufacturers have different particle sizes of activated carbon and clay, and the smallest particles may reach about 1 micron. These fine particles are difficult to be intercepted by ordinary filter bags.
After years of on-site experience, we have developed multi-layer high-efficiency filter bags with a maximum filtration accuracy of 0.5 microns, which can completely filter activated carbon powder. It has good application in special oil decolorization, rice oil decolorization, and rapeseed oil decolorization.
