– Standard felt filter bag (PP and PET material)

Needle felt is a porous, 3Dstructure. Because of the porosity, a high flow rate is available, and coarse particles could be separated by surface, small particles could be separated also, it’s called depth filtration. So it has a high solid capture ability. It is said that collection efficiency is 60% -70% using high-quality needled felt. That is, some particles may pass through. Therefore, a more accurate needle felt is recommended if needing higher collection efficiency. High-quality needled felt does not cause fibers to enter the filtrate by special surface heat treatment. Cleaning and reusing are not possible.

Typical filter material characteristics:

Polyester, Polypropylene, Nylon, Nomex, PTFE, etc. materials have different characteristics, could be used in different chemical properties and temperatures

• Polyester(PET) is the most common fiber, good chemical and heat (<150-170℃)resistance.
• Polypropylene（PP）has excellent acid and alkali resistance, so it’s widely used in the chemical industry. But bad heat resistance(90-100℃), and it’s can’t be used in aromatic liquid.
• Nylon(NMO) has good heat ((<150-170℃)) and chemical resistance ( except acid).
• Nomex is a brand of Aramid, is a portmanteau of “aromatic polyamide”. Excellent heat and flame resistance (<200-220℃).
• PTFE has both excellent acid-alkali and heat resistance(<250-270℃).
