Why liquid turbidity in bag filter?

Bag filter plays an essential role in industrial production. It is multi-purpose filtering equipment with small volume, simple and flexible operation, energy saving, high efficiency, closed work, and strong applicability.

A bag filter is a kind of pressure filter equipment mainly composed of a filter cartridge, filter bag, filter cartridge cover, quick start mechanism, and other main parts. The filtrate flows into the filter from the inlet pipe of the filter housing. The filter bag is installed in the net basket of the filter. When the liquid permeates through the filter bag, the particle impurities are trapped in the filter bag, and the clean solution flows out of the filter bag.

We sometimes find that the filtered liquid is turbid. What is the reason?

First, the filter cloth is damaged. Filter cloth is a filter medium made of fiber with high softness and flexibility. The filter cloth may be damaged during use. There are two main reasons for the damage to the filter bag. One is that the filter bag is not replaced in time, which makes the pressure difference inside and outside the filter bag too large. Second, the filtered impurities contain hard and sharp substances, which will be pulled and torn. After the filter cloth is damaged, particulate contaminants will enter the clean solution through the damaged part of the filter cloth, resulting in the turbidity of the filtrate.

Second, the filtering accuracy of the filter cloth is not selected correctly. For example, the pore size of particles is 60 microns, but we use a 100-micron filter cloth to filter. These particle impurities will easily pass through the filter cloth, and the solution will not achieve the filtering effect. In this way, after the filtration process, the liquid is still turbid. At this time, if we change to a 50-micron precision filter cloth, we can intercept this part of particulate matter and get a clean solution.
